Are you financiers, IT specialists, program developers, building engineers, then it's your time. These are among the most sought-after professions today in the Albanian labor market, but also the most well-paid.

Women are becoming more and more demanding for higher management positions and the pay gap is getting stiffer. Key recruitment agencies say the lack of foreign investment has impacted the lowest demand for high-level managers.

While there is also the tendency of companies, especially the big ones to cut costs, overload existing staff, but also to promote internal movements in the hierarchy.

But what will be the most sought after professions this year? Which sectors will dominate the labor market? In addition to the classical professions that the market will continue to need, there are new trends associated with the digital world, design, mechatronics or even the chemical industry.

Regarding the performance in 2017, recruitment agencies leaders say that more sensitive moves can be observed in infrastructure, while the private sector, mainly large companies, will be in the pipeline. This tendency can be reflected until the end of the election, but a little further in announcing their winner.

The required professions
At the top of the classification are financiers and economists. The demand for them will continue to be high, and this has also stimulated the incentive to formalize more.

Subsequently, marketing comes in the classification, but other aspects that relate to social media management, event organization etc. are also included.

Program developers are also very demanding, even quite well paid. Entrepreneurs that are closely related to technology tend to realize investments that speak the language of this science and increase productivity and reduce costs.

Design is another profession required today for today. This is not just about those who belong to the media but also the fashion and fashion world.

The latter has been driven by the Fason sector that has developed significantly in recent years and is trying to close the entire cycle within the country. So the designers remain demanding (the lack of profiles in Albania has often caused these professions to be covered even beyond the Adriatic, Italy).

Before the financial crisis, the labor market in Albania was at the height of bloom. The demand for senior executives was on top, be it foreign or native.

As the economic rhythms decreased, recruitments followed the same trend. To be distinguished from 'hunters' you have to have the ability, to put them into use, to have succeeded in archiving.

Recruiters for senior management positions are looking for individuals who have experience, at least two or three years in their respective field. The age required is over 30 years old, and this is about the suitability that a person must have. The individual who has this age is inclined to do it. On the other hand, it should not be too young, as it would tend to change jobs often to create experiences.

An important element that recruits point out is the fact that Albanians (and because of the poor education system) do not have much analytical skills or do not try to deepen by paying more attention to the surface. But this in the near future (if it is not happening) can turn into a disadvantage.

Recently, there is a growing demand for digital offshore services (BPO), mainly from German markets. They are looking for young people who do not have just language skills, but also in other fields such as information technology, software development, etc.
The average executive salary in Albania varies depending on the company, location, and industry.

International companies pay executives at higher levels compared to local ones. But, recently, the tendency to replace senior foreign and local leaders has been confirmed, in response to reduced spending.

Over the past few years, the average annual salary for a high-level executive at an international company, including bonuses, ranged from 39,000 to 52,000 euros, while in local companies, the same positions are paid at 24,000 to 36,000 euros.

On the other hand, there is a big difference between the high executive salaries that work in Tirana and those in other cities of Albania, which are paid at much lower levels.

At the level of the best-paid professionals there are chiefs of finance departments, where payments range from 3,000 to 4,000 euros. Finance specialists are paid for 800-1,000 euros.

Human resource managers from 1,500 to 2,000 euros, but this depends on the company, as there are companies that do not have this job at work and those tasks are carried out by the finance chief. Payments to the banking system (Albanian ones) vary from 6,000 to 7,000 euros per month, including bonuses.

Payments to the leading levels in telecommunications fluctuate at similar levels to banks, 5,000-7,000 euros a month.

Well-paid IT engineers who receive up to 2,000 euros a month. While less is paid construction engineers and those of mechatronics.

Labor market
The launch of a giant investment, such as that of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline pipeline, has also dictated the need for more construction engineers, mechanics or even senior executives.

A considerable part of TAP's specialized work force has drawn through recruitment.

Working for this project is seen as an advantage for a CV, not just individuals, but also business.

The profiles they require are very specific. An example is the fact that in order to carry out works in the Çorovodë area, above 1,800 meters above sea level, where is the highest point of the project, TAP has selected specialists from Mexico, known for their ability to operate in height. Like the Italians, they know about their experience in creating underwater pipeline connections, which can also be used in the case of pipelines that will be put under water in the Seman area.

Yes, mechatronics are also considered by the recruiters. It has become the key to many products and services.

It integrates classical fields of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering and information technology to realize the underlying principles of contemporary design methodology.

According to Mrs. Papamihali, for these profiles more men prefer, while for economics / finance, marketing, chemistry, women prefer.

Retail trade is not foreseen to have any tendency to make large recruitments, although managers from this sector are talking about investments.

No significant developments are expected from energy, as Statkrafti, one of the largest companies, does not foresee recruiting.
